Book a Master Gardener

Our mandate is to provide science-based gardening education and advice to home gardeners. Our member volunteers provide Q&A sessions at garden centers, farmers’ markets, libraries, horticultural societies, garden clubs and other similar organizations. We also staff advice clinics at community events such as fairs, garden tours, plant sales, and Seedy Saturdays / Sundays. We love answering your gardening questions!

Garden Advice Parties (GAP)

Homeowners

The GAP is a traditional clinic held in a private garden by a two or three-member VIMGA team, consisting of at least one Certified Master Gardener while others on the team may be Master Gardener Interns. The homeowner is encouraged to invite friends and neighbors to attend as well. The team tours the garden while answering questions from the homeowner, which can range from plant identification and care, appropriate plants, troubleshooting plant problems, design ideas, etc. GAPs usually last about two hours.

To book a GAP at your garden, email gaps@vimga.org with your location, an idea what kind of advice you are looking for and at least several suggested dates.
